MockBank, a group of experts who carefully create mock tests specific to each competitive examination, have come up with sample questions regarding Reasoning for SBI PO 2014.

Directions—(1-–5) In the following questions, the symbols @, \$, %, # and © are used with the following meanings illustrated—

‘A @ B’ means ‘A is not smaller than B’.
‘A \$ B’ means ‘A is not greater than B’.
‘A % B’ means ‘A is neither smaller than nor equal to B’.
‘A # B’ means ‘A is neither greater than nor equal to B’.
‘A © B’ means ‘A is neither smaller than nor greater than B’.

In each of the following questions assuming the given statements to be true, find out which of the two conclusions I and II given below them is/are definitely true. Give answer—

1] If only conclusion I is true.
2] If only conclusion II is true.
3] If either conclusion I or conclusion II is true.
4] If neither conclusion I nor conclusion II is true.
5] If both conclusions I and II are true.

1.Statements: A @ B, B # C, C \$ D
Conclusions: I. D % A II. C % A

2.Statements: M \$ N, N @ P,P % Q
Conclusions: I. P © M II. Q # N

3.Statements: E % F, F # G, G @ H
Conclusions: I. H # F II. E % G

4.Statements: J © K, K \$ L, L % M
Conclusions: I. L © J II. L % J

5.Statements: W # X, X % Y, Y © Z
Conclusions: I. Z # X II. Y # W

Directions (6-10): Read each of the following statements carefully and answer the questions.
6.Which of the following expressions will be true if the given expression ' A> B³C <D < E' is definitely true?
(1) A³C
(2) E > C
(3) D³B
(4) A > D
(5) None of these

If the expressions 'E < J£H > Z', 'H£Y' and 'E > F' are true, which of the following conclusions will be definitely false?
(1) F < Y
(2) Y > E
(3) F < H
(4) J£Y
(5) All are true

8.Which of the following symbols should replace the question mark in the given expression in order to make the expressions 'K£H' and 'M > J' definitely true?
H > I = J ? K£L < M

(1) > or =
(2)³
(3) ≤
(4) Either < or£
(5) None of these

9.In which of the following expressions will the expression ‘P > S’ be definitely false?
(1) P > Q³R = S
(2) S£R£Q < P
(3) R = P > Q³S
(4) S > Q³R < P
(5) S < Q£R < P

10.Which of the following symbols should be placed in the blank spaces respectively (in the same order from left to right) in order to complete the given expression in such a manner that ‘N < K’ definitely holds true?
K – L – M - N
(1)³, =, >
(2), <, =
(3) <
(4) >, <
(5) None of these

1. (4) 2. (2) 3. (4) 4. (3) 5. (1)
