UPSC Departmental Competitive Examination 2012

UPSC is inviting application for the departmental competitive examination in the year of 2012. The last date to apply online for this post is 15.10.2012.

Name & no of posts

UPSC will select more number of candidates for various kinds of post category. The post details are:

Section officers' grade of the central secretariat service

Section officers' grade (integrated grade II & III) of the general cadre of the Indian foreign service, branch ‘B’

Section officers' grade of the railway board secretariat service



Grade A & B merged of the central secretariat stenographers' service

Grade I of the stenographers' cadre of the Indian foreign service, branch B

Grade A & B merged of the armed forces headquarters stenographers' service (not participating for the year 2009)

Grade B of the railway board secretariat stenographer's service

Section officers' grade of the intelligence bureau

Section officers' grade of the armed forces headquarters civil service (not participating for the years 2010 and 2011)

How to apply

The candidates will have to fill in their application form online on UPSC’s website www.upsc.gov.in.

Selection procedure

The selection procedure will be based on the merit list of the examination and the interview. The commission will consider the eligible criteria for all three years and then select the merit list candidates of these 3 years' examination.

The candidates are required to apply online only through the UPSC website www.upsc.gov.in.

Date of notification: 15.09.2012
Last date for receipt of application: 29.10.2012
Date of examination: 15.12.2012
