Indian cricket didn't need the IPL and yet it became quite successful. Indian hockey desperately needed PHL and that didn't take off. Now even WSH got off to a false start in 2011 and will take place in February 2012.
The WSH has been fine-tuned to meet international requirements. Youngsters will get a boost and many foreign coaches will contribute with the money being good for local hockey players. One hopes it gets a successful kick start.
