Some people are born to be perennially in the limelight like Sachin Tendulkar, who has been the absolute focus of attention ever since his debut as a 16-year-old.
Then there are others like Rahul Dravid who end up watching from the shadows despite being much greater match-winners than their favoured peers.
A look at 10 occasions when Dravid's achievements were eclipsed by something else.... 1. Debut at Lord's:
Dravid debuted at the Mecca of cricket and made a fine typical Test knock of 95 runs off 267 balls. He was agonizingly close to his century and overshadowed by fellow debutant Sourav Ganguly, who made 131. Incidentally the not so famous Jack Russell also scored a century and was declared man of the match in the draw. 2. World Cup 1999:
In the match with Sri Lanka, Dravid stepped up the pace and scored a brutal 145 off 129 balls, as India posted a formidable 373-6. However it was Dada again who stole the show in the same match with his 183 run score studded with seven sixes. Images:
