The last ball final…
Who would have thought that IPL 2019 would go down to the very last ball! But it was one see saw of a match. First it looked like Chennai Super Kings was on top but in the end Mumbai Indians put up a competitive target of 149, maybe not good for a league match, but good enough for a pressure cooker final.
Then CSK got off to a good start but MI pegged them down with wickets. When CSK seemed totally out, they scored 20 runs in the 16th over and 20 runs again in the 18th. The ball was firmly in CSK’s court when they required 9 runs off six balls.
When 5 runs were required off 3 Shane Watson looked like getting 2 runs and then it would have been 3 off 2. Game over? Not really, yet another classic Ravindra Jadeja miscommunication and Watson was out. 4 off 2! In the end CSK required just 1 run off the last ball to induce a Super Over and they couldn’t even do that as MI romped home.
