Sachin's was a crucial wicket: Anderson

London: Fast bowler James Anderson has insisted no England player should put playing in lucrative Indian Premier League (IPL) ahead of playing in the Test cricket.

England's record wicket-taker, Anderson said representing England in the longest version of the game makes him proud, however, the Lancashire swinger's views are at odds with claims by players' union chief Angus Porter that some England stars want to miss early summer Tests in order to play in the IPL, the Sun reports.

Anderson said he can't comprehend putting the IPL ahead of international cricket, especially Test cricket, which he holds in really high regard, adding people have different priorities and prefer T20 but he couldn't see any of our team player doing it because they all take pride in playing for England.

Anderson captured his 529th international wicket in the opening one-day international against New Zealand on Sunday to beat Ian Botham's record, and even 10 years after his debut, the thrill of playing for England has not diminished, the paper said.
