Andy Murray has got a snappy makeover in a hilarious new advertisement for the Australian Open, where he is seen comically emulating 1980's tough guy from TV, Crocodile Dundee.

Fans of Scottish tennis player produced the mock Crocodile Dundee movie poster, with the 25-year-old sportsperson starring as "Crocodile Dunblane", a reference to his hometown, north of Stirling, the Herald Sun reported.

The blurb at the bottom of the poster that is fast going viral on Twitter and Facebook, reads, "With brief cameo appearances for Roger Federer, Novak Djokovic and Bernard Tomic."

The poster headline reads: "He's here for your trophy ... and your sheilas".

Murray, his mother Judy and Australian Open tournament organisers have all shared the poster meme online.

On his Facebook page, where it has so far garnered 18,470 "likes", he wrote: "Not sure who's put this together, made me laugh though." (ANI)
