US basketball legend Magic Johnson has offered Miami Heat star LeBron James one million dollars to compete in the 2013 Sprite Slam Dunk Contest at the upcoming All-Star weekend.
Johnson requested James, who had always refused to enter the contest, to take part in the contest because of the amount he had put up on the Miami Heat star and his wish to see the player in action, New York Daily News reports.
James had recently been putting on a dunking show before Miami's games, reigniting Johnson's interest in seeing him take part, the report added.
The National Basketball Association (NBA) currently pays 100,000 dollars to the winner and 50,000 dollars to the runner-up in the contest, the report said. (ANI)
