Australian fast bowler James Pattinson has claimed he would take any opportunity to wind up Indian batsmen in the Test series, starting on February 22 in Chennai, by bowling aggressively and with the help of bouncers.

Pattinson said he would like to bowl fast and with aggression, News.com.au reports.

Pattinson added every Australian bowler is going to have something a little bit different, whether that is being the enforcer or, adding when he goes out there and cross the line then one playing a Test match so it's pretty fiery, the paper reported.

Pattinson said he was heartened by the bounce and carry on offer for the quicker bowlers at Chennai's Guru Nanak College Ground, where Australia made 241 and 0-15 and the home side scored 230.

Pattinson and seam-bowling all-rounder Moises Henriques (4-12) claimed half the wickets to fall in the home team's innings. Australia will play a three-day game against India A starting on Saturday.

Pattinson said people talk about the pitches being slow and low but there was a little bit of carry with the new ball, adding he was a bit surprised.

Pattinson added a fast bowler can use the bouncer quite effectively early on, and seeing that it is pretty exciting.

The fast bowler said the Australian pace men would probably use the bouncer more often over here, especially to the openers to try to unsettle them.

Pattinson also added the ball tends to start reverse-swinging early in the day's play in India which is also a tactic Australia's bowlers will be keen to exploit. (ANI)
