England legend Geoffrey Boycott has branded the Indian one-day team as average and added that the world champions are lucky to have Mahendra Singh Dhoni as their captain.
Boycott believes the Indian teams lack quality seam bowlers, and added their spin bowling stocks have depleted as well, the Daily Mail reports.
The former England batsman added India's best batsman are approaching their retirement dates and are well past their prime.
Boycott said he doesn't judge the importance of a captain in the team on their win-loss ratio, as he believes a leader should be judged taking into account or consideration the quality, or lack of quality, in his team.
Boycott said Dhoni is an excellent ODI captain but has his limitations in the longest format of the game, and added that there is no apt replacement for the captaincy role at present for Dhoni in Indian Test team.
Boycott also claimed that veterans Virender Sehwag and Gautam Gambhir were lucky to be in the Indian teams, as he feels both of them are well past their prime. (ANI)
