Chelsea's millionaire footie stars couldn't resist poking fun at Didier Drogba, when he presented his former teammates with rings at a London event he hosted on Thursday, to mark their Champions League triumph in May.
The gold jewellery is etched with an image of the player's face and decorated with diamonds and sapphires, the Sun reported.
The rings cost the Ivory Coast star more than 800,000 pounds in total, which look just like ones dished out to winners of American football's Super Bowl.
"The players were really chuffed with the rings. It was an amazing gesture by Didier. But it didn't take long for the lads to start pretending to propose to each other," a source said.
"After John Terry commented that the ring would be better suited to his wife, Branislav Ivanovic got down on one knee in front of him. And David Luiz spent the evening pretending to propose to numerous female guests," the source added.
It wasn't just the rings that caught the players by surprise. The boxes were pretty special, too. Once opened, each ring rotated on a little stand and two LED spotlights lit it up.
All that was missing was the Champions League theme played out of a tiny speaker.
Team-mate Ashley Cole was so taken aback and posted a snap on his Twitter page and wrote: "ThankYouDidier for the amazing #CFC Championship rings!!! I appreciate everything lad!"
