Djokovic floors Federer as emotions run high

MELBOURNE: Novak Djokovic stunned defending champion Roger Federer 7-6 7-5 6-4 to reach his second Australian Open final on Thursday after a match of high emotion which threatened to boil over.

The hard-hitting Serb, who captured his only grand slam title in Melbourne three years ago, clearly rattled Federer who exchanged words with him in the third set.

Federer's dramatic exit, 24 hours after that os world number one Rafa Nadal, left the Swiss master without a major title for the first time since 2003.
