Cricket and drugs have been unlikely partners but with Mohammad Asif recently failing a drug test at the Indian Premier League, doping has reared its ugly head again in cricket. Despite cricket being more a game of skill rather than raw power, drugs can still boost the performance of fast bowlers and it is not surprising that the most recent cases have involved pacer Asif and his teammate Shoaib Akhtar. However, there have been many more instances of drug abuse by cricketers.
