Suresh Raina has been in the team for quite a while and has still not been able to establish his place in the longer format of the game. He is best suited for the ODI and the shorter T20 format of the game and has shown great talent in that aspect.
Raina is one example of a player who can clear the boundary with ease and step up the gas when the team requires. The worrying factor though has been his lack of consistency and his technique to handle the short ball that often makes him lose his wicket.
Raina has been batting at different positions from No: 3 to No: 6 depending on the squad which could be one the reasons he hasn't been able to perform consistently. A fixed position though could well make him feel settled in the team and bring out the best in him.
His bowling comes in handy along with his more than important electric fielding. He is one of the few athletic fielders in the Indian team who throw themselves around the field and take some brilliant catches.
