The fact that Roger Federer joined the elite band of players to have completed a career Grand Slam should put an end to any debate over his greatness. But is he greatest ever, as Pete Sampras, whose record of 14 Slams Federer equaled last night in Paris, said? I have my own doubts, but for sure, Federer is the best of his generation, just like Sampras was though he never won the French Open.
