Ferguson believes England must include Ferdinand in Euro squad

Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson believes Rio Ferdinand and John Terry are the only two experienced center backs present in England, and Ferdinand along with Terry should play for England in the Euro Cup.

Ferdinand has played only once for the Three Lions in the last 15 months. He appeared to have fallen out of favour under Fabio Capello, and there was no recall from caretaker boss Stuart Pearce last month.

"Rio is as good as any center-half in England. Him and John Terry are the only experienced defenders England have got," The Sun quoted Ferdinand, as saying.

"All the rest are young. But he has not been in the squad and that is a decision for the next England manager. I would take him for his experience alone," he added.

Last month Fergie said he expected six United players to be in England's Euro squad, and did not name Ferdinand among them. (ANI)
