The four premier championships played in three different disciplines this year, have witnessed a rather unique link. The four sporting events in reference are World Cup Hockey, French Open, the just-concluded Wimbledon and World Cup Football in the men's category. The unique link is the appearance of Spain or its representatives in the top five slots in each of these four major tournaments. In fact, Spain's Rafael Nadal registered back to back wins at both clay and grass courts tournaments. And now Spain have completed the coveted hat-trick with maiden victory in the all important World Cup football on Sunday. The full details of Spain's domination is as follows:
