Former Chelsea striker has hit out at the treatment meted out to senior players at the club, saying as soon as a player crosses the age of 30, they are made to feel that they are too old to play football.

France winger Florent Malouda has been forced to train with the reserves and youth teams this season, as Anelka was last year before his January move to Shanghai, and this has incensed the French international.

"At Chelsea, as soon as you get past 30, you get the impression you're too old. It's sad what's happening to Flo. Two years ago, he was named player of the year," the Daily Express quoted Anelka, as saying.

"Chelsea could react in another way. When they need you, you're the best. When they don't, get lost," he added.

The hard-line policy is also affecting veterans Frank Lampard and Ashley Cole, with both being told they will not be offered more than one-season extensions, as both of them are in the final year of their contracts. (ANI)
