Former England footballer David Beckham has been labeled a third-hand Rolls Royce by a French newspaper following his signing of a five-month contract with Ligue 1 club Paris Saint-Germain.
According to French daily Le Figaro, 'third-hand Rolls Royce' Beckham's arrival has caught media attention, risking envy and discord in among egoistic players, and added that a special status can feed jealousy in the dressing room of the club, New York Daily News reports.
However, other headlines in France were much more supportive of the football veteran's arrival in Paris.
Beckham, who says he will donate an amount of his salary to a children's charity in Paris, is aiming to win a championship with his fourth different club in his fourth different country. He has previously won titles with Manchester United, Real Madrid and LA Galaxy. (ANI)
