The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has hinted that it will not release its players to play in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) following Bangladesh cricket board's refusal to tour the country for a bilateral series citing security fears.

PCB has claimed in a statement that Bangladesh Cricket Board's (BCB) second refusal in space of nine months to tour Pakistan has affected the relations between the two countries, the Daily Times reports.

The statement said for next year's BPL editions, they would look at their players' commitments and schedule and then only take any action, however, it also added that associating the release of Pakistan players with Bangladesh tour does not hold any merit.

PCB chairman Zaka Ashraf earlier reacted strongly to the announcement by BCB president Nazmul Hassan that Bangladesh would not tour Pakistan.

Ashraf said if BCB doesn't want to come it's their own decision and the PCB didn't force them.

Ashraf added that now BCB's own reputation is at stake, adding if the Bangladeshi board don't want to respect their bilateral relationship then we will also respond in a same manner.

In April, BCB backed off from a tour, citing an order from the Dhaka High Court, which restrained Bangladesh players from going to Pakistan because of security concerns.

On Monday, the BCB president cited the same reason and said the tour could not take immediately. (ANI)
