Many years back Rahul Dravid would keep coming out with solid and reliable performances in the Test arena and many a times he would get overshadowed by someone else.
His debut was like that.
His mammoth 267 ball stay and score of 95 was overshadowed by another debutant, Sourav Ganguly, who hit an elegant 131.
Later he became India’s most reliable player and was nicknamed The Wall (A title shared by Sunil Gavaskar and Sanjay Manjrekar in the past).
A similar fate seems to be falling on Gautam Gambhir who’s always there when India needs him in the shorter format, but doesn’t always get his fair share of recognition.
He’s already closing in on 5000 ODI runs at a healthy average of 40 plus and strike rate of 86.
He also has two 150s, one which came in a chase of a 300+ target.
