The Indian cricket team's fortunes have fluctuated like a pendulum this year.

Starting with the World Cup win on home soil followed by the drubbing by England on English soil, Team India's next challenge is their campaign Down Under against a young Australian side by the end of the year.

Losing badly in England dethroned the Indian team from the No. 1 Test spot but a comprehensive series victory at home against the West Indies helped them move to the second spot in the ICC Test Rankings.
