Sauber star Nico Hulkenberg has declared himself Formula One's Cinderella after he was given a shoe that fits.
The Hulk, 25, who has switched to the Swiss team from Force India, had trouble getting comfortable in his new cockpit at F1's first pre-season test in Jerez, reports The Sun.
It prompted worrying talk that the car's confines might be too tight for the tall German. But after feeling much more snug during the second test at Barcelona, Hulkenberg explained the problem was all down to his driving shoes.
Hulkenberg has yet to climb on the podium in two seasons in F1, despite taking pole position with Williams in Brazil in 2010.
But Sauber recorded four top three finishes last year. And Hulkenberg is confident he has made the right decision in joining the Ferrari-powered team. He is already being linked to Ferrari as a possible successor to Felipe Massa next year. (ANI)
