Individual firsts in international cricket

Sachin Tendulkar, Sunil Gavaskar, Muttiah Muralitharan, Shane Warne, Wasim Akram, Brian Lara, Chris Gayle, Anil Kumble

After Sachin Tendulkar's amazing innings at Gwalior, we look at other individual firsts in the world of cricket

10 - Wickets in a test innings claimed by a single bowler in the team. The first player to accomplish this coveted feat was England’s Jim Laker who returned with figures of ten for 53 during the Ashes series at Manchester in 1956.

This rare achievement was repeated after 43 years by yet another spinner Anil Kumble when the lanky Indian claimed 10 victims for 74 runs versus Pakistan at Delhi in 1999.
