New Zealand all-rounder Jimmy Neesham has been reinstated in the Twenty20 (T20) squad after injured players Ian Butler and Grant Elliot were left out from the upcoming series opener against England in Auckland on Saturday.
Neesham, who was in the victorious Kiwi squad in the recent ODI series against South Africa, was initially not part of the 13-member team, but he was recalled when Butler and Elliot had to be ruled out after suffering injuries to their ankles and quadriceps respectively, Stuff.co.nz reports.
According to New Zealand team physiotherapist Paul Close, both Butler and Elliott would miss the upcoming match but revealed their respective injuries were not serious.
Close added that he was confident that both the injured players will be available for the second T20 match in Hamilton. (ANI)
