Lewis Hamilton drives on Mumbai road

Speeds in F1 racing unlikely to be reduced: Hamilton
Speeds in Formula One racing were unlikely to be reduced despite new rules and regulations being introduced by the governing body FIA, Formula one ace driver Lewis Hamilton said Thursday in Mumbai, India.

`GP2 is getting faster and Formula One will have to stay faster. But the thing is every time new rules and regulations are brought in teams only get faster,` Hamilton, who was in the city for a promotional event, said.

India has been provisionally granted a race in 2010 provided the promoters, the Indian Olympic Association, meet the statutory requirements - like building an expensive racetrack. The sport`s commercial rights` owner Bernie Ecclestone is convinced Formula One`s financial future lies in India and China.
