In 1975 and 1979, West Indies were favourites to win cricket's top title. And they did so convincingly.

In 2003 and 2007, Australia were slated to win comfortably. That script went to perfection.

But on most other occasions, the underdogs triumphed. Not only did they win, but there were many occasions when they played so badly, that they were on the verge of being eliminated, but miraculously recovered.

It was as if a mysterious hand was guiding them and they were fated to win.
