A'dia Mathies scored a season-best 24 points to help No. 5 Kentucky rout Auburn 97-53 on Sunday.

The Wildcats (18-1, 6-0 SEC), who have now won 17 games in a row and are tied with No. 4 Duke for the longest win streak in the country, put the game away in the first half, running out to an 11-point early. Auburn closed its deficit to eight with 11:04 until halftime. But over the next 7 1/2 minutes, Kentucky went on a 24-2 run, during which six different Wildcats scored.

Kentucky led 51-21 at the break. The Tigers (13-6, 2-4) scored consecutive field goals only once in the first half; it was those two field goals that snapped the Wildcats' 24-2 stretch that put them on top 46-15.

Auburn, which entered Sunday's game averaging 15.8 turnovers per game and a plus-6.4 turnover margin, had a season-high 30 turnovers (16 at halftime) against the Wildcats' full-court press.

Mathies was perfect from the field at the intermission, making all five of her shots — including three 3-pointers. She had 16 of her 24 points before the break. The senior guard, who won SEC Player of the Year as a junior, also had two assists and two steals. She finished 8 of 9 from the floor and tied a career high with five made 3-pointers.

Forward DeNesha Stallworth logged her fifth double-double of the season, finishing with 16 points and 10 rebounds. The junior transfer from California has scored at least 10 points in 16 straight games dating back to a seven-point performance against High Point on Nov. 17.

In all, five Wildcats finished in double figures: Mathies, Stallworth, Jennifer O'Neill (17 points), Samarie Walker (15) and Bria Goss (10).

Hasina Muhammad scored 13 points for the Tigers.
