New Zealand captain Brendan McCullum has claimed his ninth-placed one-day team's series win over a top South African team at their home is among their finest limited-overs series win.
Kane Williamson hit 145 not out to set up a 27-run win for New Zealand in the second ODI at the Diamond Oval and it gave the tourists a 2-0 lead in the three-match series, reflecting towards a major turnaround for a team that was thrashed by an innings in both Test matches, the Sydney Morning Herald reports.
An elated McCullum said it is one of the finest one-day series wins in New Zealand's history, the ninth-ranked team against the top team, adding it is incredibly satisfying to finish off the tour in this way.
It was New Zealand's first win in any series in South Africa, following a tense one-wicket victory in the opening encounter of the series in Paarl on Saturday. (ANI)
