World number one Amelie Mauresmo suffered a blow going into next week`s U.S. Open when she lost 6-4 7-5 to Lindsay Davenport in the New Haven quarter-finals on Thursday. The Wimbledon and Australian Open champion could not cope with Davenport`s power from the baseline and the American clinched her 11th consecutive win over the Frenchwoman in a repeat of last year`s final.
