Pankaj Advani (seen here) finally erased the last of doubts over his greatness as a billiards player. The resounding victory against nine times World champion Mike Russell, considered one of the greats of modern era, in the World professional billiards final at Leeds last night is surely a landmark in Pankaj's glorious career.
The Pune-born Bangalore lad had often said that Russell, who had set very high billiards benchmark, is the man to beat and he did so quite convincingly. At least now, the Doubting Thomases would scurry back into the woodwork with Pankaj having conquered the last bastion.
