England batsman Kevin Pietersen has warned India that they might regret playing just one fast bowler in the final Test match in Nagpur, and added he found it very difficult to score runs against Ishant Sharma.

Pietersen top scored with 73 on what he said was one of the toughest pitches he has encountered as England struggled to 199-5 off 97 overs.

However, Pietersen was convinced the home side's decision to field just one quick bowler in Sharma was one they may regret as they chase the win they need to level the series at 2-2.

James Anderson and Tim Bresnan were paired together in England's seam attack after Steve Finn failed to recover from back trouble.

"We are in a position of strength, if I'm allowed to say that, from having two seamers," the Daily Star quoted Pietersen, as saying.

"We might have a little trick up our sleeve having Jimmy (Anderson) and Bres (Tim Bresnan) because I found Ishant Sharma incredibly difficult to score runs off," he added.

The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) confirmed uncapped Middlesex bowler James Harris would replace injured Stuart Broad in the Twenty20 squad. (ANI)
