Oscar Pistorius' slain girlfriend, Reeva Steenkamp's father has said the Bladerunner must suffer if his version that he accidentally shot dead his daughter isn't true, adding the Paralympian will have to live with his conscience if he has lied about her death.
In an interview after Pistorius was released on bail, Barry Steenkamp voiced fears that the Paralympic champion was not telling the truth, the Telegraph reports.
While his wife June beside him at the family home in Port Elizabeth, Barry told a local newspaper that it doesn't matter how much money Pistorius has and how good his team of lawyers is, he must be able to live with his conscience if he allows his team of lawyers to lie on his behalf.
Barry added there are only two people who really know what happened and that is Pistorius and the Lord.
Until now, Barry, a racehorse trainer has been diplomatic in his comments about how his 29-year old model daughter Reeva met her death, and last weekend, he told a newspaper that there is no hatred in their hearts for the sportsman.
On Saturday however, with Pistorius released on bail and living in his uncle's home in Pretoria, Steenkamp's mood appeared to change, the paper said.
Barry said if it didn't happen the way Pistorius said it did then he must suffer, and he will suffer because only he knows.
Mr and Mrs. Steenkamp did not attend the bail hearing, and he was too distraught to watch her appearance in the reality television show Tropika Island of Treasure, broadcast days after her death, the paper reported. (ANI)
