Premier League clubs have been ordered to install Goal-line Technology (GLT) for the start of the next season.
Although a final decision is yet to be made by the clubs on which of the three FIFA-licensed GLT they will use, Premier League spokesman Dan Johnson has said that all of the top-ranking 20 clubs will have to install the equipment by August 2013, the Daily Star reports.
According to Johnson, the Premier League is in discussion with two of the GLT companies licensed by FIFA, adding that they are working on the basis of having GLT in place for the start of the season.
FIFA is planning to begin using the technology in the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, after testing the systems at the Club World Cup in Japan in December 2012, the report added. (ANI)
