Mahela Jayawardene has been their best batsman, and they will look to him to lead the way once again. For people such as Sangakkara and Yuvraj, this is amongst the last few chances they will have to get a decent hit in a match situation before the T20 World Cup, and they would want to maximize that. Yuvraj has still not played the match-turning innings that everyone expected him to in this IPL, though he has a couple of supporting roles. However, after being under the media fire for much of the IPL, he will want to prove critics wrong and play a good hand.
Brett Lee will be missing for the Kings XI with a broken thumb, but they have a good replacement in Juan Theron. Theron had an impressive start to the IPL, but was a little indifferent in the last game he played, and he would also want to get his rhythm right before he joins South Africa for the World T20.
For the Deccan Chargers, the equation is very simple. Their net run rate is not too good, and the most straightforward path to the semi-finals for them is to win their remaining two matches. If they can do so handsomely it will be a bonus, but their primary focus will be on just getting across the finishing line.
