If Virender Sehwag fires at the top, Delhi will breathe a sigh of relief
The final league match for both the Delhi Daredevils and the Deccan Chargers has boiled down to a simple equation: win and you're guaranteed a semi-final spot. That will be the only agenda for both teams as they take the field on a Kotla pitch that has come in for some sharp criticism throughout the tournament.
The fact that a do-or-die match of this nature is being played on a sub-standard pitch is a matter for concern, but because it doesn't involve potentially sleazy stories of ministers and their girl-friends, or IPL head honchos and the count of how many fingers they have in how many pies, it is likely to die a quiet death, while the Kotla goes on with its supposed 'rehabilitation' and Delhi gets its share of cricket come the World Cup 2011. The only people connected with the game for whom such worries must take a back-seat are the players themselves.
