Former captain Mahela Jayawardene hit a fluent double century as Sri Lanka took a sizeable lead on Wednesday against India on the third day of the first Test here.
Jayawardene was batting on a resolute 204 while wicketkeeper-batsman Prasanna Jayawardene also compiled an impressive unbeaten 84 with Sri Lanka finishing the day on a commanding 591-5.
It gave Sri lanka a lead of 165 runs after India was dismissed for 426 in its first innings, in which Rahul Dravid (177) and captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni (110) scored centuries.
