The 'Queen's Baton Relay' is a relay during which the Commonwealth baton travels across the participating nations. The relay finally culminates in the opening ceremony of the games in the host nation. The relay traditionally begins from Buckingham palace in London, England where the reigning monarch, currently queen Elizabeth II, initiates the relay.
