India thrashed Sri Lanka by 147 runs on Tuesday in the third one-day international to take an unassailable 3-0 series lead, overshadowing off-spinner Muttiah Muralitharan`s feat of equaling the world record for most ODI wickets.
Batting first after captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni won the toss, India scored 363-5 as Yuvraj Singh and Virender Sehwag smashed blistering centuries and shared a 221-run stand.
Indian left-arm spinner Pragyan Ojha then took 4-38 to trigger a Sri Lankan collapse which saw the last five wickets falling for 32 runs. The hosts were dismissed for 216 in 41.4 overs and India clinched the five-match series with their third successive win.
