Vijender caps golden day for India
Guangzhou: India's Vijender Singh clinched the gold in the men's 75 kg boxing event with a convincing win at the Asian Games here Friday. It was India's 14th gold medal of the Games.

Vijender blanked Abbos Atoev of Uzbekistan 7-0 in a lopsided affair.

However, it was a disappointing show by two other Indian boxers. Santhosh Kumar Virothu was beaten 1-16 in the men's 64 kg final by Daniyar Yeleussinov of Kazakhstan and ended up with a silver.

Manpreet Singh lost 1-8 by Mohammad Ghossoun of Syria to finish with a silver in the men's 91-kg boxing.
