137 v Sri Lanka at Delhi on March 2, 1996: Tendulkar's run-a-ball 137 in the penultimate group match of the World Cup which contained five sixes and eight fours, ensued that India reached a respectable score of 271 for three of their allotted 50 overs. This was his second century of the tournament. However a devastating assault by Sri Lankan openers Sanath Jayasuriya & Romesh Kaluwitharana made 272 look a simple target in the end as the visitors won by six wickets & ten balls to spare.
