Arguably the world`s best-known soccer arena, Wembley in London is the ancestral home of England`s national team. It has been the site of many memorable matches including the 1966 World Cup final, won by the hosts. The original Wembley, with its trademark Twin Towers, was built in 1923. Soccer great Pele said: `Wembley is the church of football. It is the capital of football and it is the heart of football.` A new facility is being rebuilt on the site, with the trademark towers ground up and symbolically entombed in the new foundation.
