New Delhi: Ace Indian boxer Vijender Singh has denied links with a man who was arrested in Punjab after 26 kgs of drugs worth 130 crores were found in his flat.
Fatehgarh Sahib district police have claimed to have recovered 26kg of drugs on Thursday including heroin, worth around a whopping Rs 130 crore in the international market. An NRI Anup Singh Kahlon was arrested from Fatehgarh Sahib and his flat in Zirakpur was raided.
According to police sources, he told police that international boxer Vijender Singh was also his client and one of the cars which were parked at his flat according to the smuggler belongs to the Beijing Olympics bronze medallist. It was later revealed that the car actually belongs to Vijender's wife Archana Singh. Police sources reveal that they are looking into his call details to see if he has any connection with Vijender or he is trying to mislead investigations.
Meanwhile, Vijender Singh has denied links with a man who was arrested.
Vijender told NDTV, "I meet so many people, I met this guy also through somebody but I don't know him personally. I was in Mumbai. Maybe my friend took my car and parked it at Anup Singh's house. He may be using my name to find an escape route."
