After West Indies occupied the crease for full two days, it is now India's turn to bat on a batting paradise strip and more importantly Sachin Tendulkar's chance to register his most awaited and talked about hundred in three remaining days in his own backyard of the Wankhede Stadium.

In nine Tests comprising 14 innings at this venue, he has been successful in notching up a three-figure knock only once when he made 148 against Sri Lanka way back in December, 1997. With this in mind, can the master batsman take advantage of the home turf as was evident in following few cases?

He has been adjudged lbw only eight times in home Test matches while his tally of dismissals in the same mode abroad has been three times - 25 to be exact! Of course the home matches also include two games against West Indies during 1986-87 series when Indian umpires VK Ramaswami and Piloo Reporter officiated.

Pakistan's lucky home ground: Pakistan has the unique distinction of losing the least number of Test matches among all countries while playing on a particular ground which has hosted minimum 20 matches over the years. And that lucky ground for Pakistan is none other than the National Stadium in Karachi. And Pakistan’s first loss at this ground came after remaining undefeated for the first 34 Tests! Pakistan track record at this venue is: two defeats, 21 victories and 18 drawn matches out of 41 Tests.
