New Delhi: Buoyed after finishing his first Formula One race in Melbourne, Hispania driver Karun Chandhok is now looking forward to Sunday's Malaysian Grand Prix where he hopes his team would be able to get both the cars to the chequered flag.

"Finishing the race in Melbourne was the first step and now we are hoping to get both the cars over the line," Karun said.

"Our target for the first four races is to get to the chequered flag. It's only after we achieve the target that we would think about performance," said the Chennai-based driver.

"Right now, reliability remains an issue with the car and you saw (teammate) Bruno (Senna) had his race cut short by a hydraulic problem. If both cars finish the race in Sepang, that would be a huge morale booster for the entire team." Karun said.

Talking about the Malaysian Grand Prix, Karun said he was looking forward to drive again in Sepang where he has some really good memories.

"I have driven so many times there, winning with Renault V6. I was on the front row with iSport in GP2 Asia and also drove a number of times in Formula Asia," he said.

Fitness-wise, Karun said he has not felt better and hoped that would stand him in good stead on Sunday.

"My good winter preparation paid off and I was very fit after my full Australian Grand Prix. I have not even felt sore after the race. This is a good sign for Malaysia where conditions are usually hot and demanding. I am looking for another great achievement for our young team," said the youngster.
