Chennai win a thriller

Fiery fifties from Simon Katich and skipper Yuvraj Singh turned out to be in vain as the Chennai Super Kings beat Kings XI Punjab by 12 runs under the D/L method in a thrilling IPL tie at Centurion on Thursday.

Hard-hitting fifties from Matthew Hayden and skipper MS Dhoni had seen Chennai post 185-3 in their 18 overs after they elected to bat.

In reply, the Kings XI were restricted to 174-3.

The match duration was reduced after a long rain delay at Centurion Park.
