Fifty-nine matches in six weeks. Big hits. Millions of Television viewers. Loads of glamour. And a reported profit of about $100 million for the BCCI. The Indian Premier League was just too big to be above controversies. And just like the short format of the T20 version of cricket, the controversies, too, were short and entertaining. The quicker one got dusted, the sooner another one sprung up. Be it media restrictions, Sree-Harbhajan slapgate or cheergirls issues; all these controversies added spice to a fun sporting event.
