Willie Basson has been elected acting president of Cricket South Africa (CSA) until its annual general meeting in September.
Basson is a highly experienced cricket administrator and is currently CSA Transformation Committee chairman, Sport 24 reports.
The decision came after CSA board of directors met in Johannesburg to discuss the Nicholson report recommendations following AK Khan's and CSA audit and risk committee chairman John Blair's resignation.
Their resignations came after the release of the report, which found the board had failed to take appropriate action against chief executive Gerald Majola for alleged financial misconduct.
Brand and corporate relations manager Kass Naidoo also resigned on March 17.
Naidoo had been the beneficiary of improperly-awarded bonuses after the 2009 Indian Premier League. (ANI)
