New Delhi: After a thumping 4-0 triumph over Australia in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, India was congratulated on the social networking site Twitter by several cricketers Sunday.

"Congrats boys, well done. Njoy it big time, a well-deserved whitewash," tweeted opening batsman Gautam Gambhir, who is currently out of the team due to jaundice.

Legendary Australian pace bowler Glenn Mcgrath said: "A very convincing win to India. India totally dominated the series. Aussies have a lot of work to do before the Ashes. Congratulations India."

Out of favour pace bowler Zaheer Khan also congratulated the team.

"Congratulations team INDIA on a great series win !!"

Former India opener Aakash Chopra also lauded the outstanding result: "Lost all the tosses but won all the matches. Outstanding result for India. Well done :) #IndvAus"

"Congrats to India on the series win and the way their young players have played..."

Former India batsman Sanjay Manjrekar said: "Winning 4-0 is no mean feat... and that is how this series win has to be looked at... Well done India !!"

This was the first time India whitewashed a series 4-0.
