So India crashes to another crushing defeat against Australia in Melbourne. The first thing people will ask is whether we are in for another 0-4 thrashing.

The Aussie pace attack looks as good as the English one; The Aussie pitches seem to have as many demons for the Indian batsmen as the English ones.

There are many nagging worries for Indian Test cricket right now…

Winning two Tests in a series abroad

India has been winning Tests abroad with great regularity post-2000, but after one victory, they have simply failed to win another after that. When is the last time India has won two Tests in a series abroad against a Top 8 team?

The surprising answer is in England in 1986, when we won 2-0. It's not that we are poor travellers abroad, but we fail to carry on the momentum throughout the series.

As of now winning the series seems a distant task and at best we may be able to square it.
